How to Add a Carousel Slider in WordPress

Carousel sliders are a sleek way to display multiple items—such as images, testimonials, or products—side by side, allowing users to scroll through them horizontally.

Instead of showing one slide at a time, a carousel keeps your layout compact while allowing viewers to explore more. With Sliderberg, you can create a responsive carousel slider directly within the WordPress editor, eliminating the need for extra tools or code.

This guide walks you through the entire process, from adding the slider block to customizing the carousel layout. Take a look at the demo of the carousel slide I’m going to create today.

How to add a carousel slider in WordPress

Step 1: Install and Activate Sliderberg

First, you need to install the Sliderberg plugin:

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New from your WordPress dashboard
  2. Search for Sliderberg
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate

Once activated, the Sliderberg block becomes available inside the editor.

Step 2: Insert the Sliderberg Block and Enable Carousel

Open the post or page where you want to insert the carousel slider.

  1. Click the + icon to insert a new block.
  2. Search for Sliderberg in the block search box.
  3. Select the Slideberg block, and it will be inserted.

Select “Blocks Slider” after inserting the Sliderberg block.

Now do the following.

  1. Select the slider.
  2. Click on the Carousel Settings.
  3. Now activate the “Enable Carousel Mode.”

Step 3: Design Your First Slider

Upload Images or select a Solid color from the color picker.

For my case, I will add an image.

  1. Select the Upload option to add a custom image.
  2. Select Your Image file from your directory and click “Open.”
  3. Click the Select button, and it will be inserted into the editor.

Step 4: Add Text Content to your Slide

Now, add text content to your slide. You can add Headings and paragraph blocks as text content.

If you want, you can also delete those headings and paragraph blocks inside the carousel slider, just like any other block you delete. To delete a block:

  1. Select the Block you want to delete.
  2. Click the Three Dots.
  3. Select the Delete option.

You can choose the color of the text content from the right side panel.

Step 5: Add More Slides

  • Click the Add Slide to add a new slide to the slider.
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4.

Alternative Method: Duplicate the Current Slide

  1. Click on the Duplicate Slide Button
  2. Change the Text Content

Next, follow the following:

  1. Select the slide.
  2. Click on the Background Settings.
  3. Click Replace Image.

Follow the following steps.

  • Upload your custom image or select from the media library.
  • Repeat the Alternative Method if you want to add more slides.

If you choose the “Add Slide” button for adding a slide, you have to design the layout again. The Duplicate button lets you duplicate the layout, including the image.

Step 6: Customize the Slideshow Settings

Click the outer Sliderberg block (not a single slide) to open the settings sidebar. From here, you can:

  1. Go to Animation Settings
  2. Set Transition Effects and Duration
  3. Lastly, set Transition Easing.

Next, go to Autoplay Settings to modify options related to Autoplay.

  1. Activate the “Enable Autoplay” option.
  2. Adjust Autoplay Speed.
  3. Enable the “Pause on Hover” option.

To adjust the navigation, explore the Navigation Settings. There, you can modify the navigation type, placement, shape, size, arrow color, background color, opacity, and other settings.

Lastly, take a look at the Carousel Settings. In the Carousel Settings, you can adjust the number of slides to show, slides to scroll, and slide spacing.

Keep the Infinite Loop option enabled if you want your carousel slider to show images continuously.

And that’s all the settings to adjust to create a carousel slider in WordPress. The final demo is below.

After completing the carousel slider, save or publish the post or page.
